The Saturday

I screwed up some pancakes this morning. Trying to display some elegance and good old Canadian class, I screwed up pancakes. So I turned to reliable oatmeal, some apples with coffee and water. My guest were charmed from the simple gesture. These past couple days has been filled with many good people and conversations. Ive been fortunate to see that some people really do lead wonderful, happy lives.

I took Melodie to the farmers market downtown after breakfast and enjoy the wonderful August air, blue skies rained on us with the markets wild colors staining our eyes. We both had the Divine desire to have bread: I, with some cheese on top of a roll/her a baguette which wasn't a baguette but a baguette shaped white wonder bread. Tearing piece by piece, it crumbled to the cement attracting a lone bird.

We waited.
Then waited.
Wondered waited.

Soon we figured we might at the wrong spot waiting for Melodie other companion Issac. Melodie went to call where Issac had stayed the night and received that he had left an hour earlier. She told me this and then we went on the ideals of where he could be. Eventually finding him at the main Tunnel exit, about to leave. Good timing. He was with a guitarist/train hopper from Minneapolis, he was playing while we were discussing how we were trying to find him.

We bid adieu.

By then it was 4:30, I then went to Milk to read more of Anna. I received a letter saying Sibel Yilmaz, my friend was to meet me there. It was also the place she worked during the week. A wonderful cafe, quiet and quaint most of the time I really enjoy the immersion of culture. So I order a coffee, large and nothing in it and a glass of water, no ice. I sit down and begin reading Anna; Chapter XXX, Part One. I'm trying to read a few chapters a day seeing that it is quite a dense book; pages ranging in the thousands! Its becoming a fascinating age to read about with every page.

I meet Sibel at around Six, and talk about stamp collections, tomatoes, salads and wonderful aspects of life. Shes a real pleasure to be around with I soon realized. I described to hear that stamps our now becoming a fascinating subject to me and I greatly want to dive into the art of collecting. She sprung off her seat one day to tell me that is one of her desires and passions as well! Both our mind lights switched on!

Stamp collecting and coffee, quite a wonderful combination for the day.

I later meet another man named Ishmael, Sibel book club friend. A worker in the automotive field, a budding philosopher in society he was another "mythical" name I was exposed to (Issac, now Ishmael). He was like a data bank on verse and past social issues and spoke with a iron tongue. It was a pleasure listening and discussing with him on the city street patios of Windsor.

Then 1 in the morning comes rolling around and we all say our goodbyes. I head home. I speak to my roommates as I come in the door and wish them a pleasant night.

I head to bed.

more tomorrow.

The Friday

No DIA (Detroit Institute of Arts) today. I had been planning to head out with a friend but alas plans didn't come abroad. With that, its early afternoon and I just did my wonderful exercises for flute and heading towards some more literature.

Instead I housed a couch surfer from Kingston, Ontario named Melodie. Who really delivered a pleasurable time to the day. She was part of a duo of people biking across Ontario and beyond!
The other had to stay at another place for there own personal reasons, but all the merrier.
We met up downtown and enjoyed the closed downtown streets of Windsor, for the Emancipation Festival. Issac the other part of the duo, made an opportunity with this change of environment by sunbathing on the intersection of University and Oullette. Quite a wonderful spectacle.
We parted are ways after that and began the night of beautiful pictures, violent interdispearesd pastels, wonderful blissful music. We viewed plenty of films that expanded our view point on social issues and nature. It was an expressive night to say the least.

We had also listened to some rather interesting and atmospheric Icelandic Music and we then thus concluded our night with some Samuel Barber. A happy end of the night.

Saturday and Sunday will be quite a bit of practicing and full of more interesting visits.
Ive recently been barraged by so many people(not that I'm complaining), that I have been given such a view point on certain issues that have been rolling in my head. Some actually realized and answered! Some unanswered and unclear.

Till again.

The Thursday

Maryam the wunderkid artist I know, made a wonderful appearance today at my home!

A year has gone by since I last saw her, and I can say she hasn't changed a bit. Her quaint way about things and serene spirit made it a pleasure to reminisce about the past year.

I found out that there are so many new cafes opening up in the area! Including some I never knew about, plus get this: house musicians get to play there! Needless to say a few light bulbs were flashing in my head. Soon and even a few moments ago I tweeted, Fbook'ed and all the other "connected" things people do to send the a message to some of the surrounding cafes. Bringing an acoustic feel to these shops is a up and coming old ideal that I would love to be a part of.

Today, I worked alot on Bach, and made a bunch of archival updates for all my music literature.
My hammock made it thru the rain a few days back and is actually stretching out for more space. That, or I might be getting smaller. Which is what some people have been saying lately.

Amongst many things this is going to be an output to my development in life as an musical artist. Plus Ive been reading (currently, Anna Karenina; Tolstoy) a hell of alot so I'm seeing if anything is rubbing off into my way of writing.

More thoughts to come.
Tah tah for now.
